Truck carrying propane explodes, catches fire in Maine

The Associated Press

BREWER — Police say propane stored inside a pickup truck caused an explosion in the Maine town of Brewer.

Police say small bottles of propone hooked up to a hand held torch and a 100 pound propane container were inside the truck before it caught on fire. The truck had been having electrical problems before it burst into flames on Tuesday.

Firefighters were able to stop the flames before they spread to the nearby house. WZON-AM reports that they also removed the 100-pound tank before it ignited.
