Western Maine could get up to 9 inches of snow overnight in a messy storm that will leave coastal areas with a slushy mix of snow and sleet.
The National Weather Service in Gray issued a winter storm warning for Sunday afternoon and into the next day or two.
Precipitation is expected to taper off Monday afternoon with a possibility of drizzle and freezing rain. A second storm is expected late Monday into Tuesday, with heavy snow possible in western Maine.
