Kasey Benner, Medomak Valley, senior catcher/shortstop: A strong-armed power hitter for the Panthers, Benner will split time at the two positions. Last year she batted .367 with one home run and 22 RBI.

 

Alexis Bogdanovich, South Portland, senior pitcher: A dominating pitcher and hitter, she helped the Riots to the Class A state championship, going 11-1 in the regular season with a 1.21 ERA, 108 strikeouts and nine walks in 73 innings. She also hit .472 with three home runs.

 

Janelle Bouchard, Kennebunk, junior catcher: Already a two-time all-state selection, Bouchard is considered by many to be the best catcher in the state. She hit .604 with seven home runs and also stole seven bases.

Jordan Brasier, Sanford, senior outfielder: She’ll likely patrol center field this year to take advantage of her athleticism. Brasier led the Redskins with seven home runs and a .426 batting average last year.

 

Shelby Bryant, McAuley, junior center fielder: Bryant makes the move from first base to center field to take advantage of her athleticism. She led the Lions with a .526 batting average last year with 22 runs and 11 RBI.

 

Alyssa Clark, Gorham, senior third baseman: A very strong defensive player, she moves in from the outfield this year. She’s also a clutch hitter.

Danielle DiBiase, South Portland, senior second baseman: One of the most talented defensive players in the SMAA, DiBiase also jump-starts the Riots’ offense from the top of the order. Last year she hit .440 with 22 runs, 16 RBI and 10 stolen bases. She committed only two errors.

 

Rachel Edson, Gray-New Gloucester, senior shortstop: She provides great range in the middle of the diamond, a strong arm and a big bat in the middle of the Patriots’ lineup.

 

Heather Fecteau, Biddeford, junior infielder: Versatile and athletic, she is capable of playing every position in the infield. Last year she batted .408 with 16 runs, 15 RBI and two home runs. She only committed two errors.

Julia Geaumont, Thornton Academy, junior pitcher: A dominating pitcher who struck out 116 batters in 103 innings, Geaumont is also a tremendous hitter. She batted .571 with nine doubles, two triples, three home runs and 31 RBI.

 

Sarah Gilblair, Biddeford, senior pitcher: Gilblair had a strong junior season for the Tigers, going 11-6 with 132 strikeouts in 111 innings and a 2.14 ERA. She also batted .340 with 11 RBI.

 

Kennadi Grover, Georges Valley, sophomore outfielder/infielder: A versatile fielder who will play many positions, Grover is a tremendous hitter. Last year she batted .619 with seven home runs, 30 RBI and 31 runs scored. She also hit eight doubles and three triples.

Mo Hannan, Scarborough, junior pitcher/shortstop: A top pitcher and hitter who is finally healthy, Hannan batted .488 with four home runs, 23 runs and 25 RBI while going 6-0 with a 0.22 ERA and 65 strikeouts in 32 innings.

 

Caroline Hamilton, Greely, junior shortstop: An exceptional fielder with great range, Hamilton also sparks the Rangers’ offense. Last year she batted .449 and scored 15 runs.

 

Abby Hutchinson, Yarmouth, senior shortstop/pitcher: A four-year starter for the Clippers, Hutchinson has been a consistent contributor to the team’s success. Last year she batted .358 with six doubles, a triple and a home run.

Meghan Lewia, Wells, senior shortstop: A four-year starter for the Warriors, Lewia brings experience and intensity to her position. She batted just over .400 last year.

 

Charlotte Lewis, Fryeburg Academy, senior pitcher: One of the big surprises last year, Lewis helped the Raiders reach the state Class B championship game by going 15-1 in the regular season with a 3.21 ERA. She also batted .322 with 19 RBI.

 

Jenn Lynch, Deering, senior shortstop: A three-year starter, she is a solid defender in the middle of the infield and leads the Rams’ offense from the middle of the order.

Katlin Norton, South Portland, senior catcher: A tremendous hitter, she powered the Red Riots’ offense in the playoffs. On the season, she hit .608 with three home runs and 33 RBI, then drove in the winning runs in the regional final and state final.

 

Amelia Pennington, Lincoln Academy, senior pitcher: She went 13-4 for the Eagles last year and batted over .500 from the No. 3 spot in the order.

 

Lindsay Ranquist, Medomak Valley, senior center fielder: A gifted defensive player, Ranquist led the Panthers with a .408 batting average last year and scored 18 runs.

Chrissy Remmes, Thornton Academy, junior second baseman: Extremely fast and defensively solid, Remmes was also at the top of the Trojans’ hitting categories last year. She hit .545 with five triples and three home runs.

 

Miranda Riendeau-Card, Mt. Ararat, senior shortstop/pitcher: One of the top players in the KVAC, she batted .455 last year with four home runs. She will pitch more this year. Riendeau-Card will attend Trinity College.

 

Abby Rutt, Scarborough, junior catcher: Extremely versatile and athletic, she played third last year and in the outfield as a freshman. Rutt batted .451 last year with two home runs, two triples and four doubles.

 

Emily Schatz, Massabesic, junior shortstop: Schatz has great range in the infield and is one of the top hitters in the SMAA. Last year she batted .488 with five doubles, two triples and a home run.
