Maine Milestones

 Dick Carson of Purpoodock Club struck a hole-in-one on the 15th hole at Nonesuch River on Sept. 10 during a Southern Maine Seniors tournament. Carson used a pitching wedge for the 140-yard shot, which was seen by Mike Deluca, George Lydick and Charlie Kean.

RJ’s Pub won the Greater Portland Senior Men’s Softball League championship, beating Atlantic Coast Title 19-6 in the final. John Parkhurst of York aced the ninth hole at Martindale Country Club during Maine Seniors play on Sept. 9. Parkhurst used a driver for the 180-yard shot -- his first hole-in-one. It was witnessed by Bernie Lontine, Scott Ramsey and John Curry.

Matt Findlay made a hole-in-one on the 320-yard ninth hole at Willowdale Golf Course on Sept. 14. The shot was witnessed by Reis Hagerman, Nick McCullis and Andy Fasulo.
