Portland is beaten by Bridgeport 4-3 and falls two points out of a playoff spot in the Eastern Conference.

From staff reports

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. — Trevor Frischmon scored with one second left in overtime to give the Bridgeport Sound Tigers a 4-3 win over the Portland Pirates on Saturday night at Webster Bank Arena.

Portland took a 2-1 lead on second-period goals by Brett MacLean and Nick Ross. It was McLean's 23rd goal and Ross' second.

Jon Landry tied it at 2 early in the third period, and the Sound Tigers took a 3-2 lead when Rhett Rakhshani got his 17th midway through the period.

Andy Miele tied it at 3 with just under a minute to play after the Pirates pulled goalie Peter Mannino for an extra attacker.

Despite the early Portland advantage in shots, the numbers were much closer over the final two periods and overtime with Bridgeport taking a slight edge, 31-28.

The Pirates have six games left, including two at St. John's on Tuesday and Wednesday.
