GORHAM — Jeremy Jackson had 14 points and nine rebounds to help the University of Southern Maine take a 56-44 win over Colby College in men’s basketball on Tuesday.

Chris Pagentine added 13 points and six boards for the Huskies (8-10), who used an eight-minute, 10-2 run to take a 52-39 lead with 2:43 to play.

Ben Foreman had 12 points for the Mules (6-12).

 

BOWDOIN 94, THOMAS 83: Will Hanley’s 22 points and 20 rebounds led Bowdoin (14-5) during a victory over the Terriers (10-8) in Waterville.

Hanley’s layup 1:35 into the second half gave the Polar Bears a 38-37 lead and started a 10-2 run. Bowdoin pushed its lead to as much as 15.

Andrew Madlinger added 15 for Bowdoin. Jarrad DeVaughn’s 25 led the Terriers.

 

UNE 73, CURRY 61: Charles Fenner III scored 31 points to lead the University of New England (4-15, 4-8 CCC) over Curry College (8-11, 6-6), at Milton, Mass.

WOMEN’S BASKETBALL

BATES 88, UM-PRESQUE ISLE 51: Lauren Dobish scored 17 points to help the Bobcats (9-11) beat the Owls (8-11) at Lewiston.

Renee Moore led UM-Presque Isle with 11 points.

ST. JOSEPH’S 82, EMERSON 46: Danyelle Shufelt paced the Monks (14-6, 8-0 GNAC) with 15 points against the Lions (7-14, 4-5) at Boston.

 

UNE 80, CURRY 64: Margo Russell had 26 points and nine rebounds for the Nor’easters (15-4, 10-2 Commonwealth Coast), who pulled away from the Colonels (7-12, 5-7) in the second half at Milton, Mass.

 

BOWDOIN 65, EASTERN CONNECTICUT STATE 45: Jill Henrikson had 25 points, nine rebounds and nine steals to lead the Polar Bears (15-5) past the Warriors (6-14) at Brunswick.

Anna Prohl added 12 points for Bowdoin.

MEN’S HOCKEY

COLBY 5, UNIVERSITY OF NEW ENGLAND 2: Colby College (4-13) scored five unanswered goals in the first two periods in beating the University of New England (3-13-2), at Alfond Rink in Waterville.

Mike Doherty scored two goals for the Mules.

Colby goalie Matt Delaney had 32 saves.

His shutout was spoiled in the third when John Tuell and Adam Laite scored.

WOMEN’S HOCKEY

HOLY CROSS 4, COLBY 0: Stacey Hotchkins figured in all the scoring with a goal and three assists as Holy Cross (15-1-2) shut out Colby (4-13-2), at Worcester, Mass.
