Secretary of State Matt Dunlap skidded on ice on I-95 Tuesday morning and demolished his truck in a rollover, but still made it to work pretty much unscathed.
“I was wearing my seatbelt,” Dunlap told concerned senators after session Tuesday. Always quick with a joke, Dunlap said the thing that bothered him most was he spilled his coffee.
The Old Town Democrat was on his way to work, driving south of Bangor on I-95, when he hit the ice. His truck rolled over and had to be towed away, but Dunlap got out with a couple of scratches. He then got a ride to Augusta. The accident happened around 7:30 in the morning near Exit 42 on the Interstate.
