0317 SCA tobacco-free

Lucie Rioux, director of Communities Promoting Health, gives new tobacco-free signs to Mark Coulston, assistant director of Scarborough Community Services.

Rioux gave the town 24 signs, which will be posted around town in recognition of the Town Council’s December resolution to make the town’s parks, recreation facilities, playgrounds and other public areas free of tobacco.

The Communities Promoting Health program is one of the Healthy Maine Partnerships, efforts to improve Mainers’ health using money from legal settlements with large tobacco companies.
