Two Scarborough teens and two from Portland were arrested following a raucous party held at a Sebago millionaire’s vacation home over the weekend.

Cumberland County sheriff’s deputies were the first to arrive on scene early Saturday morning after receiving calls from a concerned parent and a caretaker living close to the home on Terra Laine near the Sebago-Naples town line.

The owner of the house lives in New Jersey and hasn’t visited the house for over two years, according to the sheriff’s department.

The owner’s nephew, Patrick Brown, 19, of Scarborough, had visited the house the previous weekend but had been forced to leave by the caretaker, who then changed the locks. Cumberland County Sheriff’s Capt. William Rhoads said the nephew broke into the home on the following Friday night and invited 70 to 80 of his friends for a party.

“We originally got the call from a concerned mom whose son had called wanting a ride home from the party,” said Rhoads.

Within 10 minutes of the call, two deputies, Ray McIntire and Jennifer Gage, were on the scene meeting “some resistance” from the partygoers, Rhoads said. The teens were throwing beer cans and beer bottles as well as other items at the officers as they made their way up a long driveway approaching the house.

The deputies called for backup once they realized that almost 100 teens were in the house. Rhoads said the “full complement” of seven county deputies arrived as did two Windham officers, one Bridgton officer and three state troopers from York and Cumberland counties.

Most of the revelers were students at high schools in Portland, Scarborough, South Portland and Brunswick, Rhoads said.

Patrick Brown and Jason Burke, 18, also of Scarborough, along with two Portland juveniles, were arrested and charged with disorderly conduct.

Officers arranged for rides home for the rest of the teenagers. The party was over at 4:45 a.m. Slight damage was found in and around the home including a broken window, torn out window screens (possibly where Brown initially entered the home) as well as beer and cigarette stains on carpets. Of the 54 teens identified by officers, 16 were girls.
