Meeting
The Rebekah Lodge #71 will hold their next regular meeting on May 18 at 7:30 p.m. in the Odd Fellows Hall. The program will be an ice cream social. Everyone is to bring a topping. Last year they all brought toppings and no one brought ice cream so this year Elsie Haskell will bring it.
Mother’s Day
Betty Barto had a nice surprise on Mother’s Day. Her son, Roger, and his wife, Pearl, came from Winter Harbor for the weekend. They, along with her son, Rollin, all went to her daughter’s, Sue and Bill Hager’s, for brunch on Sunday morning. After eating they returned to Betty’s and did work around the house for her. It was much appreciated. She also received some beautiful flowers.
Birthday
Joan Tobin celebrated her birthday on May 2. She enjoyed lunch with her sister, Esther Noble, at the Maine Bean Bakehouse and Deli.
Home
Michelle and Jim Farwell and family have recently returned from a two-week trip to New Port Richy, Florida. While there they visited with Eddie and Debbie Morrell and Daryl and Christine Morrell and family in Spring Hill, Florida. They also went to Disney World.
Home
Ira and Betty Wyman have returned home after spending the last six months in St. Cloud, Florida. They had a good winter even though the weather was cool.
Banquet
On May 12, four foster grandparents from Windham attended the annual banquet held at the Holiday Inn by the Bay for the foster grandparent program. The two attending from the Manchester school were Grammy Ellie and Grammy Elsie. Grammy Eleanor and Grammy Glenice attended from the Primary School.
Birthday
Edith Bell really enjoyed her birthday on May 7. She went to Friendly’s for lunch with her daughter’s mother-in-law. They sang to her and gave her balloons and ice cream cake. That night she was taken to see “Hello Dolly!” by some friends. She had a great time. Sunday they sang to her and also had a cake for her at church.
Back Home
Don and Norma Rogers recently returned home. They spent the past five months in St. Cloud, Florida. They saw many people from Windham who live there in the winter.
