Maine Dirigo Boys and Girls State provides juniors with a program that supplements their high school courses in government and teaches them how government functions. This year, Girls State will be held during the week of June 19-24 at Husson College in Bangor and Boys State will be held during the week of June 19-24 at the Maine Maritime Academy in Castine. The Standish Kiwanis Club is sponsoring one boy and one girl.
Juniors representing Bonny Eagle High School at the Dirigo Boys and Girls State program in June include: Katie Caddle, Griffin Sherry, Kelly Johnson, Eric Favreau, Morgan Sanborn, and Josh Seal. Alternates chosen are Kim Simonson, and Evan Embrey.
