Through its Graduate & Professional Studies division for adult learners, Saint Joseph’s College in Standish presents four new programs in addition to the 86 courses offered during its traditional two-week summer sessions at the Sebago Lake campus. The four new programs are:

• Leadership Skills for Health Care Executives – This two-and-a-half-day seminar is geared for mid- to top-level health care executives and uses the Leadership Effectiveness Analysis (LEA), a management-style diagnostic tool. Led by John Pratt, Director of Undergraduate Health Programs for the adult learner division, it will run from Aug.10-12 (non-credit, but offers CEUs). • Educators’ Media Camp – Taught by Saint Joseph’s communications professor John Hufstader, “Video Vacation 2005” is a five-day workshop for educators using video technology as a teaching and learning tool. Participants will conceptualize, shoot, edit, produce, and assess their own video projects as well as others’. Topics include equipment, hardware, software, production techniques and appropriate applications to each student’s existing curriculum. The media camp runs from July 25-29 (non-credit, but offers CEUs). Registration deadline is July 15. www.sjcme.edu/mediacamp.

• Advanced Placement Summer Institute – Under the direction of Saint Joseph’s English professor Richard Dennison, the institute will offer teacher training courses for AP instructors in 10 subject areas. The institute runs from July 24-29, offers graduate credit and CEUs, and is endorsed by the College Board. Registration deadline is July 15. www.sjcme.edu/apsi.

• Bookkeeping Certificate Program – Sponsored by the GPS Business Administration program, under the direction of Dr. Gregory Gull, this 11-week, 6-credit program prepares students for the American Institute of Professional Bookkeepers (AIPB) certification exam. The class meets June 21 to Sept. 1 on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5:30-9:30 p.m. Topics covered include: Foundations of Business, Accounting for Bookkeepers, Bookkeeping Software and Bookkeeping Practicum.
