Join the summer reading program at the Steep Falls Library on Route 113 in Standish (Steep Falls) and earn prizes as you read. Pick up your free book bag and voucher for a Sea Dogs game when you sign up to read books during the summer. There will be contests along the way and lots of exciting prizes.
The program begins Tuesday, June 28 and runs through Tuesday, August 16. Join us on Saturday, August 27, 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. for the end of the summer reading party at the Library. A couple of the many contests include making a castle from all recycled items in your home, with judging on Friday, July 15, also, a poster drawing contest using this year’s theme “Dragons, Dreams and Daring Deeds”, with judging on Friday, July 22.
The one who reads the most books will receive a special prize on Saturday, August 27 at the party. SO READ, READ, READ AND HAVE FUN! Also, The Seashore Trolley Museum in Kennebunkport will have their fifth annual summer reading program on Friday August 19 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Author Matt Tavares will be there along with Ed Morris’s Balloon Zoo Super Show with plenty of other exciting activities throughout the day.
