RECORD: 4-13

COACH: Shawn Holt

HIGHLIGHTS: The play of the underclassmen Kevin McDonough at shortstop, Ben Goss pitching and Nate Jewell at second were high points for us. And the very strong pitching we got from senior Peter Carter, who was third in the league in strikeouts, was a key for us, said Coach Holt. The Scots had some tough losses early, but came on strong late in the season and had wins over Kennebunk and Massabesic the last week of May.

HIGHLIGHT: The Scot girls started strong and won five of six games during one stretch in late April and early May. Bonny Eagle beat McAuley in the first round of the playoffs, but lost to Deering in the Western Class A quarterfinals.

SENIORS: Mayghan Guilford, Brittainy Knight, Anna Mendes, Michelle Presby, Amanda Rumpf, Leah Scrutchfield, Megan Stanley, Kristen Willard.

Boys tennis

RECORD: 3-8

HIGHLIGHT: a 3-2 win over Biddeford came early in May for the Scots.

COACH’S COMMENT: “We had 26 freshmen and sophomores and only five upper classmen, so to earn a 12-3 regular season record was very surprising and exciting.”

Boys track

RECORD: 6-7-1

COACH: Greg Wilkinson

HIGHLIGHT: Finishing third at the state meet behind Portland and South Portland with only one senior scorer – Kyle McKague. Also seeing school records from Ben Roy (110 hurdles), John Wiechman (shot put) and McKague (100 meters).

COACH’S COMMENT: “The future is very bright for us as we are returning basically our entire team. We hope to challenge Scarborough, Gorham, South Portland and Deering next year. The kids are excited to run and host meets on their brand new eight-lane track. It’s been a great spring for our student athletes.”

HIGHLIGHT: One highlight would be our win over undefeated Morse halfway through the season.

HIGHLIGHT: With a new coach and a young team, the Scots improved as they went through a tough schedule. The season included wins over Biddeford and Westbrook. But the real drama was saved for the season’s final game, when Josh Delcourt’s third goal of the game came in overtime of an 8-7 win over Noble at home.

SENIORS: Joshua Adams, Kevin Brayley, Stephen Coppi, Joshua Delcourt, Robert Doehler, Chris Huff, Jamie Mitchell and Andy Slefinger.

Girls tennis

HIGHLIGHT: The Scots started things off with a 3-2 win over Massabesic in the spring’s first match.
