Peggy Therrien and Laura Pralicz

What is your position with the city and how long have you been on the job?

Therrien: I am a customer service representative at the front desk in City Hall. I’ve been here for six weeks.

Pralicz: I’m also a City Hall customer service representative. I’ve been with the city for three weeks.

What did you do before coming to work for the city?

Therrien: I worked for the town of Lisbon in their town office. I did a very similar job to what I do now in Westbrook.

Pralicz: I was a title clerk at Motor City in Saco.

What kind of duties does your job entail?

Therrien: We do vehicle registrations, fishing licenses, passports, dog licenses and collect taxes. We do just about everything at the front counter.

Pralicz: I do the same work as Peggy. We work together at the front desk processing things like vehicle registrations, hunting and fishing licenses and we also answer the phones.

What is the most likely way that your job causes you to interact with the general public?

Therrien: When people come in through the front door, we help them. We do most of the customer service work with the people who walk into City Hall.

Pralicz: When the people come in the door, we wait on them and try to be friendly to everyone who comes in.

What do you like most about your job?

Therrien: I like the people, actually, both the customers and everybody working here at City Hall.

Pralicz: I like all of the interaction with the customers, it’s something different all day long.

What do you like to do outside of work?

Therrien: I like to spend time with my family and I also like to do outdoor things, I like to be outside.

Pralicz: I like to swim, lie out in the sun and hang out with my family.
