The Gorham Town Council was to consider awarding a bid on Tuesday to renovate the Shaw School for municipal and school offices.
The meeting was scheduled to be held after the American Journal’s deadline.
Town Manager David Cole said the town had received six bids on the project. Arthur Dudley of Standish submitted the low bid of $4.7 million, which included nine alternates. His base bid was $4.5 million.
Nial Construction was the high bidder with a $5.8 million bid with alternates and a base bid of $5.4 million. Other bidders included Langford in Low, T. Buck Construction, Cimino Contruction and Wright Ryan Construction.
Cole anticipated that construction would start in November with an expected completion date of mid October in 2006. “We’re excited and eager to get the municipal center project underway,” Cole said.
