Roy, Johnson honored

The honor flag was recently raised at Bonny Eagle High School for two seniors who were Maine finalists in Wendy’s School Heisman program.

Benjamin Roy and Kelly Johnson were among 15,000 nominated students; 10 boys and 10 girls were chosen as finalists from each state. Johnson plays field hockey, basketball and softball. Roy is involved in cross-country along with indoor and outdoor track.

As Maine finalists, they attended a special dinner and awards ceremony on Nov. 17 at Gillette Stadium in Foxboro, Mass.

“It’s a great honor to be recognized as one of the best scholar-athlete-citizens in the state of Maine,” said Laura Cox of Wendy’s that sponsors the program. – Kathy Campbell of SAD 6
