Locals lead Monks

Matt Plummer is the second leading scorer on the men’s basketball team at St. Joseph’s College, averaging 9.8 points per game. Plummer, a Naples native, hit a game-winning lay-up earlier this season when the Monks edged USM, 63-62. Teammate Chad Pulkkinen, who hails from Windham, averages 8.2 points a game. The senior is one of two team captains. The St. Joe’s men are 8-5. Meanwhile, for the women, Kaylin Regula was named to the all-tournament team as St. Joe’s defeated Green Mountain College, 52-42, last Thursday to capture the Green Mountain Tourney. Regula, a Windham native, had 12 points, 16 rebounds and six assists in the contest. The women are currently 7-7.
