On Saturday, Jan. 21, the Naples Public Library will host “Sugar Free for Me” an informal discussion on sugar and its physical and mental impacts on our bodies.

The discussion will be led by Heather Pierson, the Naples Public Library Children’s Librarian, who has been living completely sugar-free for the last three years. After extensively researching the effects sugar has on the human body, Heather made the conscious decision to remove sugar in all of its forms from her diet.

Heather will share some of the facts she has learned including how the human body metabolizes sugar and how to recognize sugar on food labels. In addition, she will share her favorite sugar-free recipes and treat the group to samples of sugar-free goodies.

If your New Year’s resolution included an effort to eat healthier, please join us on Jan. 21 at 9 a.m. in the Naples Public Library Gathering Room for this interesting discussion. This program is free and open to all residents of the Lakes Region.

For more information and to register, please call the library at 693-6841 or stop in during regular hours, Tuesday and Thursday 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., Wednesday 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturday 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
