The Sebago Lakes Region Chamber of Commerce, Lakes Region Weekly, and Rep. Gary Moore of Standish sponsored a Gubernatorial Debate with Sen. Peter Mills and Rep. Dave Emery, candidates for Maine governor. Moore and John Robinson, R-Raymond, were moderators. Sen. Bill Diamond, D-Cumberland, was also scheduled to moderate but pulled out at the last minute because of a legislative committee hearing in Augusta. Chandler Woodcock, the third Republican vying for the Blaine House, refused to participate after learning that Diamond, a Democrat, was participating as a moderator. The event was held on Mar. 8 at St. Joseph’s College in Standish. Courtesy photo
