Siblings compete at snowboard nationals
Hannah and Tyler Blackburn of Windham returned Monday from the 2006 US Snowboard Association National Championships, where 1400 of the top snowboarders from around the country converged for six days of competition in Tahoe, Calif. Both students at Carrabassett Valley Academy, freshman Hannah, and Tyler, a junior, earned their way to nationals after a successful season of snowboard competition in the Maine Mountain Series.
Swim club offers classes
Coastal Maine Aquatics Swim Club is offering two sessions of pre-competitive classes starting April 10. Classes will be offered twice a week for four weeks. Session 1 swimmers will run Mondays and Wednesdays (4/10-5/3) or Tuesdays and Thursdays (4/11-5/4). Session 2 will run Mondays and Wednesdays (5/8-6/2) or Tuesdays and Thursdays (5/9-6/1). The fee will be $48 (plus $52 for new USA Swimming members). Space is limited. For information about tryouts and clarification of minimum skills, contact coach Chris Brunette evenings after 7:30 at 799-0378 or at chriscma@maine.rr.com.
