Windham is coming off a blowout win over South Portland in which it displayed just how powerful its offense can be, but the Scots will provide the Eagles with their first true test.
After two weeks, Bonny Eagle running back Scott Proudman is no longer a secret. Teams must key on him and his breakaway ability in order to beat the Scots. Unfortunately for the Eagles, keying on him is one thing; stopping him is another.
Prediction: Bonny Eagle 38, Windham 24
Lake Region (0-2) @ Wells (1-1)
Lake Region has been out-scored 73-19 in its first two games.
Wells was shutout in their opening game against Mountain Valley – who has yet to yield a point to anyone – but the Warriors defeated Fryeburg academy last week behind two touchdowns from running back Max Sheing, jumping out to a 22-0 second quarter lead.
Wells has an experienced offensive line and a strong running game that the Lakers will likely have difficulty stopping.
With such a young team Lake Region will need to avoid falling behind early and limit mistakes in order to keep the game close.
Prediction: Wells 33, Lake Region 12
