Scarborough (0-4) @ Marshwood (4-0)

Marshwood has been one of the stronger teams in Class A this year thanks in large part to Pat Wormel, a dangerous running back and kick returner. Scarborough will need to figure out some way to stop him.

The Red Storm are showing signs of improvement after a close game with Thornton Academy Thursday. The extended break and extra time to prepare should be a dose of good medicine for the Storm.

Prediciton: Marshwood 31-13

South Portland (0-4) @ Cheverus (1-3)

The Stags picked up win number one of the John Wolfgram era when they defeated Westbrook. They are a lot better team than their 1-3 record would suggest. They nearly beat Kennebunk in week one and gave the defending champs, Bonny Eagle, a run for their money.

The Red Riots have yet to find a way to win. They have been held to just 21 points in four games. That is not a good sign for a team that was once one of the strongest in the state. This will be the first time the Riots face former coach Wolfgram and that could give them some extra motivation.

Prediction: Cheverus 28-7

Wells (3-1) @ Cape Elizabeth (4-0)

Wells is typically one of the toughest teams in the state and this year is no exception. They have blown out two opponents on the road and won a tight game against Lake Region. Their defense is what wins games for them.

The Capers are unbeaten after surviving a last second drive by Greely last week. That game featured a high scoring first half and a defensive battle in the second. Sean Meagher and Andrew Moulton had standout performances against Greely. Cape will need more of the same if they are going to be 5-0.

Prediction Cape Elizabeth 28-22

Last week: 3-0

Season: 5-1
