Gorham House leads the way

The Gorham House team topped the businesses category in the Oct. 7 Memory walk,” raising money for the Maine Alzheimer’s Association.

Donna Davis, activities director at Gorham House, said the team raised $15,0444.

“A special thanks to all those who helped make this possible,” Davis said.

Music at seniors’ meal site

Old favorites will be played on an organ at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 25, at St. Anne’s Catholic Church, 299 Main St., before the weekly senior meal.

The hour-long program is sponsored by Starbird Music. Those attending the program are welcome to sing along with the music.

Benefit supper

The White Rock Community Club and the White Rock Friendship Club is sponsoring a bean supper 4:30-6 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 28, at the White Rock community building to benefit Debra Mathews.

The supper will support family visits for Mathews during a stem cell transplant in Boston. Donations will be accepted.

Irish joins AtHome America

Pamela Irish has recently started her own AtHome America business, a direct seller of home-decorating accents.

Irish is excited with the opportunity. “It is a business that will support my family’s needs, my goals and career achievement plans,” she said.

“All of AtHome America’s products represent the heart of the family – the home,” Irish said.

Lisa Brandau, co-founder and president of AtHome America, said Irish would be an important contributor to the company’s family and its customers in the Gorham area. “Pamela is a wonderful representative for our company,” Brandau said.

Gardeners to hear Witt

Master gardener Amy Witt will speak when the Gorham Garden Club meets from 7-9 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 24, at the First Parish Church.

Corrigan earns riding recognition

The American Quarter Horse Association recently reported that Onalee H. Corrigan placed fifth in regional competition in West Springfield, Mass.

Corrigan rode Scampitity, an American Quarter Horse, during the association’s Region Six Experience.

Halloween reminder

The United Church of Christ at North Gorham is sponsoring a Halloween party from 2-4 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 29, at the church, 4 Standish Neck Road, Gorham.
