Benefit walk-a-thon

A river walk-a-thon n at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 8, will benefit programs at the Salvation Army in Westbrook.

Programs offered include the River of Life Cafe`(soup kitchen), Monday food distribution, food pantry, sending kids to camp and helping families in crisis. The walk-a-thon will begin at the boardwalk behind the Salvation Army at 11 Bridge St. The route will follow the river walk and end where it began. The first 100 walkers to pre-register and raise a minimum of $100 will receive an event T-shirt and enjoy a barbecue following the walk.

Riverbank Art Festival

The Westbrook Arts & Culture Committee is holding its sixth annual Riverbank Art Festival, 10 a.m.-4 p.m., on Saturday, Sept. 8, (rain date Sept. 9) in Westbrook’s Riverbank Park.

Artists will be presenting their work in painting, photography, ceramics and more. Also scheduled are performances by Westbrook’s Acorn Shakespeare Ensemble.

Chadbourne, Lamb wedding

Kelly Jeanne Chadbourne and Jason A. Lamb were married on July 28 at St. Joseph’s Church in Portland.

The reception was held at Holiday Inn By The Bay also in Portland.

The bride is the daughter of Bonnie and Clint Chadbourne of Westbrook.The groom is the son of Donna and Arthur Lamb of Rockland, Mass.

The maid of honor was Elizabeth Chadbourne. Bridesmaids were Tricia Chadbourne, Samantha Darling, Carly Peters, Tiffany Richards, Marymargaret Weirick, Linda Hubbard and Cortney Chadbourne. Flower girl was Cassie Lamb.

The best man was Nicholas Sfravara. Groomsmen were Dan Fay, Tim Lochiatto, Josh Wood, Chris Carriero, Jim Mulligan, Troy Zammarchi and Micky Chadbourne. Ring bearer was Simon Chadbourne.

The bride graduated from Portland High School and is employed by AAA Northern New England in the insurance department. The groom graduated from Rockland (Mass.) High School in and is employed by Caiazzo Plumbing & Heating.

The couple honeymooned in Jamaica and reside in Westbrook.

Seniors road trip

Westbrook Senior Citizens are planning an overnight trip to Indian Head on Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 8 and 9, for a lobster fest.
