Nicole Harmon, a Scarborough High School senior who swims with Coastal Maine Aquatics, was named a 2006-2007 Scholastic All-American.

The Scholastic All-America Team is comprised of high school student-athletes, who have a grade point average of 3.5 or higher, and have competed in an individual event in either the 2006 US Paralympics Swimming National Championships, 2006 Open Water National Championships, 2006 Summer Speedo Championships Series, 2006 ConocoPhillips Nationals, 2006 Junior Swimming Championships, 2006 U.S. Open, 2007 Speedo Champions Series or the 2007 Spring Championships. The award is based on a point system for grades and competition.

Nicole is one of only two athletes in the state of Maine who qualified for this honor. Niall Janney, also a senior who attends and swims at Philips Exeter Academy and LRSC in Bath also earned the distinction. Last year, only one athlete from Maine earned the award – Kinsey Tarbell of Cape Elizabeth who is currently swimming on scholarship at the University of Rhode Island.
