Are you planning a natural childbirth? Join a birth preparation class that will help you to achieve your goal of a drug-free labor and birth at The Birth House, 28 South High Street, in Bridgton.

Participants will discover their strengths and capabilities as while exploring how the body moves through labor, comfort measures and pain-coping techniques, and positions for birthing.

The class will also learn some special circumstances in birth, and an introduction to breastfeeding and the first six weeks postpartum. An added bonus: childbirth classes are an excellent place to meet like-minded couples going through similar experiences at the same time, and begin to form a network of parents for the future.

An eclectic mix of birth preparation methods, from movement, to breathing, to meditation and relaxation exercises will be introduced. Partners will leave with an entire bag of tricks to utilize at the time of your labor, so that you can adapt as labor changes.

Classes take place Wednesday evenings, from 7-9 p.m. The next class series is scheduled for April 9, 16, 23, 30, and May 7.
