Windham residents Malcolm and Mary Lyons were recognized with a Legislative Sentiment in recognition and celebration for their 70th wedding anniversary. The Windham residents have lived on Windham Center Road for 65 years and were married at the Windham Hill Church Parsonage.

They still hold hands as a routine gesture of their love and “Mac” still tells everyone that Mary is the love of his life and a wonderful mother. Mac got along so well with his mother-in-law that he invited her to come with them on his honeymoon.

“The Lyonses and their family represent the basic integrity and community dedication of which Windham is so well known,” said Sen. Bill Diamond, D-Cumberland.
