On June 1, Aero defeated Lions 11-1 in a game played on Sunday morning due to the postponement of Saturday’s game. Ian Corey, who pitched four strong innings and helped himself with a triple in the first inning, led Aero on the hill. The Lions were led on the mound by Michael Linehan, Stephen Gikas and Bradley Rocky registering a combined eight strikeouts. Strong hitting by Justin Reynolds and Linehan helped to keep Lions in the game early. Jack Hughes led the offensive charge for Aero with two base hits. Wyatt Bridgham and Bryan Sargent helped close the game for Aero.

Al’s Variety 11

Grass Catchers 4

Al’s Variety rode a multiple hit attack and solid pitching to an 11-4 victory over the Grass Catchers on May 31 at Peterson Field. Al’s opened the scoring in the bottom of the first inning on Ben Farino’s solo home run blast to right field. The Grass Catchers battled back in the top of the second, scoring a run on four walks. Al’s went ahead in the bottom of the inning when Jack Vincent walked and came around to score on Jeff Russell’s double. Al’s opened up the lead in the third on five walks, Ben Stone’s base hit, and doubles from Zach Carriero and Russell. Al’s got additional hits in the game from Stone, Farino, Vincent, Andrew Simons and Xander Timpson. Nate Wessell was on base three times for the Grass Catchers, with two walks and a solid hit to right field. Ben Farino gave up one hit and struck out five in three solid innings to get the win for Al’s. Garrett McDonald and Zach Carriero finished up on the mound for Al’s. Sam Warren, Taylor Cookson, and Nate Wessell pitched well for the Grass Catchers.

Al’s Variety over Michaud Distributors

Al’s Variety rode the big bat of Ben Farino and solid pitching from Ben Stone to victory over Michaud Distributors on June 2 at Peterson Field. Al’s opened the scoring in the bottom of the first inning with three runs on base hits from Xander Timpson and Garrett McDonald, a run-scoring single from Ben Farino and Mitchell Rand’s two-run base hit. Al’s opened up the lead in the third inning with two home runs from Farino, a grand slam and a three-run shot. Al’s got multiple hits from Timpson, Farino, McDonald, Rand, and Zach Carriero, who ended up a triple short of hitting for the cycle. Michaud Distributors was led by Sam Dedian’s two-run home run and Austin Hancock’s base hit. Ben Stone pitched four solid innings of two-hit ball to record the win for Al’s. Timpson finished up with two innings of shutout relief for the save.
