Three municipal meetings that were scheduled to be held Monday were postponed one week due to the fact that they wouldn’t have been televised.

City staff failed to arrange for an employee to operate the city’s cable access station in order to air meetings of the Facilities and Streets Committee, the Committee of the Whole and the City Council. The administration and councilors decided, rather than proceeding with the meetings untelevised, to postpone them until next Monday.

“I think it’s important the public hear all the discussion,” said Councilor Mike Foley.

The Facilities and Streets Committee was scheduled to discuss whether the city would be willing to donate lots on Dale Avenue to the Westbrook-Gorham Rotary Club, to be used for the Westbrook Regional Vocational Center’s building trades program. Though representatives of the Rotary Club came to the meeting, they agreed to deal with the issue a week later.

That meeting will be held in Room 114 at Westbrook High School at 6:30 p.m., followed by a Committee of the Whole meeting and then a Special City Council meeting.
