On Monday, June 14, at 5:02 p.m., police met with a non-resident at Fort Williams Park, where the complainant reported door locks had been tampered. The complainant’s keys would not unlock the doors. No other vehicles were tampered with.
Wood theft
On Tuesday, July 15, at 9:23 a.m., police met with a resident of the Spurwink Avenue area who reported a theft of firewood valued at $330.
Trespass
On Wednesday, July 16, at 9:54 a.m., police met with a property manager in the Bowery Beach Road area regarding a trespass complaint.
Hands off
On Friday, July 18, at 11:43 a.m., police responded to the Kettle Cove area and met with a ranger and a complainant, who reported that a couple hours earlier, a person was seen trying to enter a friend’s car. The suspect noticed he was being watched and removed his arm from inside the car and walked away. The suspect is described as a tall, thin white male in his 40s, with short black hair, wearing gray shorts and a blue shirt.
Mermaid gone
On Saturday, July 19, at 11:03 a.m., police spoke with a resident of the Shore Road area, who reported the theft of an ornamental mermaid from the exterior of the house. The theft had occurred sometime over the past two days.
Lost ring
On Saturday, July 19, time not specified, police met with a Massachusetts resident, who reported that while staying in Cape Elizabeth, her wedding ring was either lost or stolen. It is a platinum wedding band valued at about $2,000.

Fire and Rescue
Between July 16 and July 21, the Cape Elizabeth Fire Department transported five people to Maine Medical Center and two people to Mercy Hospital.
On July 17 at 10:33 a.m., the fire department responded to a fire alarm activation in South Portland.
On July 18 at 10:13 a.m., the fire department provided mutual aid in the city of Portland.
On July 18, the fire department checked a burning permit on Philip Road at 1:38 p.m., responded to a carbon monoxide detector activation at 2:02 p.m. on Peppergrass Road, responded to an elevator alarm on Bowery Beach Road at 3:32 p.m., and responded to four reports of downed power lines between 6:20 and 7:02 p.m. At 7:46 p.m., the fire department responded to an activated smoke detector on Salt Spray Lane. At 8:49 p.m., the fire department responded to a gas leak on Starboard Drive.
On July 20 at 1:35 p.m., the fire department responded to a vehicle fire on Ocean House Road, and at 6:07 p.m. responded to a furnace problem on Ocean House Road.
On July 21 at 12:11 a.m. the fire department responded to wires down on Ocean House Road and at 2:13 p.m. the fire department responded to a fire alarm on Spurwink Avenue.
