The Scarborough 14-year-old Babe Ruth all-star team, the District 4 champion, finished 2-2 in the recent state tournament held at Westbrook High School.

Scarborough started off the double-elimination tournament with a 6-1 win over Midcoast North last Wednesday, then topped Saco Bay 12-1 on Friday. On Saturday, Scarborough fell into the losers’ bracket with a 2-1 loss to Central Maine. Scarborough was eliminated on Sunday, falling to Midcoast North 6-4. Later in the day, Central Maine defeated Midcoast North 9-3 to win the championship and earn a spot in the New England tournament.

Players on the Scarborough roster were Pat Tyler, Ryan Mancini, Will LeBlond, Matt DiBiase, Conor McCann, Matt MacDowell, Ben Wessel, Kolbey Adams, Kevin Philbrick, Johnny Passarelli, Jack Barber, Joe Cronin and Trevor Larose. The team was coached by Joe Larose, Jim Cronin and Bob Philbrick.
