This letter is in response to the story, “Westbrook retail development plan gets backing,” (August 21 American Journal) the newest project being proposed in Westbrook. Has anybody stopped to think that the new middle school is being built right across the street?
That’s just what we need, hundreds of school children getting out of school as shoppers flock to the “destination development – replete with high-end retail..”
Who can afford to shop at high-end retail? What about the homes and neighborhoods in the area? Who but the sellers and developers will profit from this project?
