Scarborough Rotary Club is currently accepting applications from Scarborough High School sophomores for participation in a leadership training conference, Rotary Youth Leadership Awards. Up to 10 scholarships will be awarded.

The Rotary Youth Leadership Awards program was developed by Rotary International for high school sophomores who wish to become more effective leaders in the home, school and community. This four-day outdoor training conference will be held June 21-24 at the Pine Tree Council Boy Scouts Camp Hinds in Raymond.

At the camp, students face physical and mental challenges designed to enhance leadership skills. The training involves a high-ropes course, compass challenge, canoeing and water sports. The conference is run by Rotarians, and the Camp Hinds staff provides food services, safety personnel and health services.

Applications are available at the Scarborough High School Guidance office. The application deadline is Feb. 23.
