A collision between two cars in South Portland on Tuesday, Dec. 29 caused a temporary road closure and a gas leak, according to South Portland police.

The two-car accident took place about 10:30 a.m. at the intersection of Ocean and Sawyer streets, police said. The vehicles hit and damaged a house, causing a leak in a natural gas line, police said.

Sections of the streets were closed for about an hour and a half until the gas company could repair the leak, police said.
