Andy Friedman creates ”fractured folk songs,” says the Los Angeles Times. The Boston Globe called him an ”erudite redneck.”
Friedman stumbled into the role of singer/songwriter after working as a cartoonist, then a performance poet. He will share the stage with singer/songwriter Jeffrey Foucault on Friday in Portland. Each will perform solo and support each other. Paul Curreri opens. Call 761-1757 or go to www.onelongfellowsquare.com for tickets.
When: 8 p.m. Friday
Where: One Longfellow Square, State and Congress streets, Portland
How much: $15 in advance; $18 at the door
