FALMOUTH — The Fire Department had record attendance at its annual awards dinner at Keeley’s in Portland on March 20, when more than 140 members and their guests came out to recognize members for their service.

Certificates were presented to the 32 members of the department who completed the 233-hour training to achieve Firefighter Level I and Level II Certification during the past 12 months. A plaque with the names of the newly certified members was presented and will be displayed at the Central Station training room.

Past members of the Pleasant Hill Firefighters Association were called up to receive a plaque dedicated to the past service of the Fire Association at the Allen Avenue Station from 1923 until its closure in 2009. The plaque will be used to dedicate one of the rooms at Central Station as the Pleasant Hill Room, where various historical Pleasant Hill memorabilia will be displayed.

Recruit of the Year awards went to Dani Leclerc, Tom St. Pierre and Zack Tooker, and the Firefighter of the Year award went to Erik Knudsen. The Officer of the Year Award went to Capt. Stan Bishop. Awards for years of service and top responders were also presented.
