Coach: Marc Sawyer

Last year’s record: 10-6

Key players: Michael Berry, Lincoln Sanborn, Kevin Moskevich, Joe Davis, Ryan Nason, Justin Smith, Tyler Ruby, John Simon, Adam Morin, Cameron McKague and Nick Cawood

Key games this season: Sawyer said every game will be big for the Scots. “The league is very strong and the season is expected to be competitive,” he said. “Westbrook, Deering, Scarborough, South Portland, Biddeford, Thornton Academy and Marshwood should be very strong.”

Season outlook: We finished 10-6 the last two seasons and lost in the quarterfinals of the Western Maine tournament,” Sawyer said. “We return 12 players from last year’s team. I think we have the potential to play with any team in the league, any team in the state. I look forward to a great season.”

Coach: Jan Corliss

Last year’s record: 12-4

Key players: Hannah Goodale, Connie Grovo, LaShawna Jackson, Whitney Porter

Key games this season: “Scarborough, Cheverus and Biddeford, although I think the league has a lot of teams that will contend for playoffs,” Corliss said.

Season outlook: “We should be pretty competitive as long as we stay away from injuries, and get key players back from injuries at the beginning of the season,” Corliss said. “I think the 43-foot pitching distance will be in our favor both offensively and defensively. We have some good contact hitters, very good speed, but it’s a new defensive line-up, and our success will depend on how quickly the new players to the starting lineup will adjust to the varsity level of competition. We are going to Florida for spring training, and that should help their adjustment.”

Coaches: Debra Semle and Vince Kane

Last year’s record: 3-9

Season outlook: “We have at least eight girls returning from last year’s team,” Semle said. “Three of them have played varsity singles, including Chelsea Kinney, Erynn Brayley and Mary Doehler. Another strong contender could be Lindsey Campbell, who could play either singles or doubles. Becky Terrio, Emily Duggan, Mikayla Welch, Paige Wormwood and Anya Timchenko have all had varsity doubles experience as well. We also have a large contingent of new players who will certainly be pushing to claim a spot on varsity. We’re excited at the prospects for this year’s team. It’s going to be fun.”
