PORTLAND — Richard Maiman, a political science professor at the University of Southern Maine, has received a Fulbright scholarship to teach and advise law students at the Centre for Human Rights at the University of Pretoria in the Republic of South Africa.
He will present a course on what can be learned from social science research, including his own, about the particular challenges of human rights law. Maiman’s Fulbright will run from January through June 2011.
The Fulbright Program, America’s flagship international educational exchange, is sponsored by the United States Department of State, Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs.
