BANGOR — Police say a local man has died four days after being beaten outside a bar.

Police say the man died late Wednesday night, but they were not releasing his name until they hear back from the state medical examiner’s office.

The Bangor Daily News identified the victim as 47-year-old Ralph “Greenie” Greenleaf. The co-owner of Carolina Sports and Spirits on Union Street told the paper that Greenleaf was attacked outside the bar at about 1:25 a.m. Sunday.

Detectives are seeking the public’s help in their investigation, but declined to say if they have any suspects in mind.
