CUMBERLAND — Hannah Newhall and Kelsey Maguire scored in the first half, and Cape Elizabeth held on for a 2-1 win over Greely in a Western Maine Conference field hockey game Monday.

Ally Boynton assisted on New-hall’s goal, and Julianne Ayers finished with nine saves for the Capers (6-3-1).

Rachel Hanson scored in the second half for Greely (7-3).

 

NYA 5, FREEPORT 0: Megan Fortier scored a pair of goals to pace the Panthers (9-1) past the Falcons (6-4) at Freeport.

Francis Leslie, Sasha McLean and Hannah Hearn added a goal apiece for NYA, which led 5-0 at halftime.

SACOPEE VALLEY 2, LAKE REGION 1: Justine Ruhlin scored her second goal of the game three minutes into overtime to lift the Hawks (7-3) over the Lakers (3-6-1) at South Hiram.

Lake Region’s Alice Sanborn opened the scoring 13 minutes into the game. Ruhlin tied it two minutes into the second half.

 

FRYEBURG ACADEMY 2, YARMOUTH 1: Christina DiPi-etro scored with 3:15 remaining to lift the Raiders (8-2) over the Clippers (0-8-1) at Yarmouth.

Bailey Frost gave Fryeburg a 1-0 lead late in the first half.

Lindsey Purpura scored off a pass from Katie O’Toole in the second half, and Cassidy Cleaves made 18 saves for Yarmouth.

 

WELLS 7, GRAY-NEW GLOUCESTER 0: Sabrina Link scored four goals and set up another as the Warriors (7-3) rolled past the Patriots (4-7) at Wells.

Jenni Schmidt added two goals, Emily Lewia also scored, and Ashley Mulkern had four assists.

BOYS’ SOCCER

A.R. GOULD 10, ACADIA CHRISTIAN 4: George Hopkins and Nate Myers scored three goals apiece as A.R. Gould (2-2) downed Acadia Christian (0-3) at South Portland.

Tyler Auger, Brandan Clement, Porsha Green and Nick Pommenville added a goal apiece.

OAK HILL 5, ROCKLAND 1: Dalton Burns scored three goals and Jamiel Kidd added a pair as the Raiders (4-3-1) beat the Tigers (1-7) at Wales.

Cody Fortier scored for Rockland.

GIRLS’ SOCCER

OAK HILL 3, ROCKLAND 0: Gabby Green, Jessica Roberts and Jane Marston had a goal apiece for the Raiders (4-4) in a win over the Tigers (1-6-2) at Rockland.
