Fall bean supper

A public supper will be held on Saturday, Oct. 2, from 5-6 p.m. at the American Legion Post 86 at 15 Lewiston Road in Gray. The menu will feature beans, chop suey, cole slaw, hot dogs, breads and dessert. The supper benefits veterans and their families. Adults $7; children under 12, $2.50; under 5 free.

Gray benefit

A benefit will be held on Sunday, Oct. 3, from 2 p.m. until 5 p.m. at the American Legion Post on Lewiston Road in Gray. It will feature a live band and a silent auction to help defray medical costs for Andy Leonard, who was injured in a motorcycle accident.

Kickin’ it

The 2010 Patriot Soccer Crossroads Challenge will be held Columbus Day weekend, Oct. 9 and 10, at the Gray-New Gloucester High School fields on Libby Hill Road.

Last year, the event raised much-needed funds for our communities and athletic fields. This year, organizers hope to have an even bigger and better tournament!

There are limited spots available for teams in each age group and gender. Acceptance into the Crossroads Challenge is based on the time the Patriot Soccer Club receives a completed application, along with appropriate fees. Gray Community Blood Drive will be held on Oct. 11 from 1 – 6 p.m., at the American Legion Post at 15 Lewiston Road in Gray.

Class of 2000 reunion

Gray-New Gloucester High School class of 2000 will hold its 10-year reunion Friday, Oct. 22, at Spring Meadows on Lewiston Road from 7 p.m. to midnight.

Plans are under way for the Sixth Annual Holiday Craft Fair at Gray New Gloucester High School on Saturday, Nov. 6, featuring art and craft tables of all kinds. A general election will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 2. All residents of Gray vote at the Newbegin Gym. The polls open at 6 a.m. and close at 8 p.m.

Benefit for horses

On Nov. 6 from 9 a.m. – 7 p.m., the First Congregational Church of Gray Parish House on Brown Street in Gray will host the 3rd Annual No Horsing Around All Day Crop to Benefit Open Gates Equine Rescue.

There will be demonstrations by Inspired Designs, Close to My Heart, Stampin’ Up and Creative Memories along with shopping, door prizes and raffles, and a gently used craft sale table – buy, sell or trade your stamps, tools and supplies.
