CHEBEAGUE ISLAND — The fishing boat Deborah Lee caught fire and burned off the east side of the island Tuesday afternoon.
A Cumberland County emergency dispatcher said the 80-foot vessel was anchored between Chebeague and Crow islands, and that the fire was reported at 11:09 a.m. No one was aboard the boat.
The Portland Fire Department fire boat and U.S. Coast Guard assisted Chebeague and Long Island firefighters in battling the blaze.
The cause of the fire was not immediately known.
