The Mid-Winter Classic 10-mile road race, scheduled to be held Sunday morning in Cape Elizabeth, has been canceled in anticipation of another expected storm.

After conferring with the Cape Elizabeth Police Department, race organizers made the decision to cancel the race Saturday evening, citing safety concerns. It’s the second time this month that a storm has prevented the race from taking place. More than 800 runners had registered for the race before its originally scheduled date on Feb. 6.

The race will not be rescheduled this time.
