GORHAM -– Power was restored to Gorham and part of Buxton after a blackout of about an hour, Central Maine Power Co. said, but now crews are looking for the cause of another unrelated power failure in Gorham.

The company said a limb came down on a line on Fort Hill Road shortly before 9 p.m., causing the first power failure that affected about 900 customers until about 10 p.m.

Shortly after that problem was resolved, CMP said, another problem was reported near the Hurricane Hill Road area. The cause of that problem was still being investigated, the spokeswoman said, adding that the outage affects only a few customers.

GORHAM – Slightly more than 900 customers are affected by the blackout in Gorham, Central Maine Power Co. said.

The power outage affects about 25 roads in Gorham and about four in Buxton, the company said, and crews believe they are closing in on the cause of the blackout.

The power went out around 9 p.m., and CMP said it will not be able to estimate when the power will be restored until the cause is found and crews begin working to solve the problem.
