Salt Exchange celebrating Kentucky Derby early

Saddle up for the Kentucky Derby at an April 27 bourbon tasting at The Salt Exchange, 245 Commercial St.

“Bourbon and the Triple Crown” will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. and include four bourbons from Makers Mark and Jim Beam Small Batch.

In honor of the Triple Crown, the restaurant will be serving a mint julep special and Kentucky Derby-inspired hors d’oeuvres.

The tasting costs $10 per person. Reservations are not required.

The Kentucky Derby is held on the first Saturday of May. This year, the run for the roses will be held on May 7.

Club will sample fine Italian wines May 4 at Grace

Tim Wiessman of Mariner Beverage Distributors will bring fine Italian wines to the next meeting of the Wine Revolution, the wine club that meets each month at the restaurant Grace.

It is an open event that will be held from 6 to 7 p.m. May 4. The group is growing fast, so an RSVP is requested to ensure there will be enough wine for everyone. Five wines will be sampled at a cost of $10 per person.

Anthony’s dinner theater giving STRIVE a hand

The dinner theater at Anthony’s Italian Kitchen will donate 20 percent of its total receipts April 30 to STRIVE, a group that helps young adults with disabilities.

The show will be the opening night of Anthony’s “Spring Italian Fiesta,” a five-person show of Italian songs and humorous skits, served up with southern Italian food.

The show starts at 7 p.m. and costs $39.95 per person. Call 221-2267 for reservations.

Good Eats Boutique to hold free tasting Saturday

Good Eats Boutique, 463 Stevens Ave., will hold a “Spring Fling” from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday.
