PORTLAND – State Street Church, United Church of Christ, has received a $49,962 grant for the Rev. Jeanette A. Good to participate in the National Clergy Renewal Program.
The grant is funded by the Indianapolis-based Lilly Endowment Inc. and State Street Church is one of four congregations in Maine and 150 across the country that will support their ministers in the program. The funding will cover both the ministers’ activities and pastoral services in their absence.
A pastor for more than 30 years, Good plans to visit places of importance in her spiritual development, including Brazil and France.
Lilly Endowment reports congregations in 40 states and the District of Columbia are included this year, bringing to 1,440 the number of congregations that have benefited from clergy renewal grants since 2000.
