MANCHESTER, N.H. — Boston Red Sox reliever Bobby Jenks pitched a scoreless inning in a rehab start tonight for the Portland Sea Dogs against the New Hampshire Fisher Cats.

Jenks, who has been on the disabled list since June 8 because of back tightness, allowed a leadoff single to Adeiny Hechavarria. But Hechavarria was caught stealing, and Jenks retired the next two batters, striking out Anthony Gose and getting Travis D’Arnaud on a line drive to right.

Jenks threw 13 pitches, eight for strikes.
