AUGUSTA — Maine Secretary of State Charlie Summers says the deadline is arriving for voters to request absentee ballots for Tuesday’s election.

Voters have until the close of business today in their local municipal offices to ask for absentee ballots. But exceptions are allowed in some cases, such as illnesses.

All absentee ballots must be submitted to the municipal clerk by 8 p.m. on Election Day Nov. 8.
