NEW FACES

• Dr. Toby Fitzgerald joined Mercy Hospital’s All About Women practice on Fore River Parkway in Portland.

Fitzgerald completed her residency at Maine Medical Center in 2010, during which she volunteered to provide medical care to women in India and Colombia. She is board eligible with the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology.

The law firm Bergen & Parkinson has opened a branch on Main Street in Saco and hired three lawyers. Barbara J. Dresser will focus on real estate law. Sarah Neault will practice in the firm’s estate and probate department. Tom Welch will move from the firm’s Kennebunk office and focus on intellectual property law and civil litigation.

PROMOTIONS

Lori Bourget-Sweeney was promoted to director of quality for New England Rehabilitation Hospital of Portland. Bourget-Sweeney, of Hollis, had been the hospital’s quality coordinator since 2006.

  Christina Hodson was promoted to pharmacist in charge at Bedard Pharmacy’s new location, at 359 Minot Ave., Auburn. Hodson, of Auburn, has worked at Bedard’s Lewiston location for more than five years.

AWARDS and RECOGNITION

Lara Carlson, Ph.D., assistant professor of applied exercise science at the University of New England, received the American College of Sports Medicine 2011 Honor Award.

Carlson, of Kennebunkport, was recognized as “a champion for students and as a role model to other professionals.”
